This was supposed to be Orica-GreenEdge's stage with a finale absolutely suitable for the characteristics of Simon Gerrans, Daryl Impey and Michael Matthews. Seconds up for grabs
They had disappeared since 2008. Bonus seconds will again be awarded at the finishes of the 2nd to the 8th stage. The bonuses will be of 10, 6 and 4 seconds for the first three of each of these stages. blaaaaaaaaaaaa
Points to conquer
Except for stage 9 that will be a team time-trial, points counting for the Green Jersey classification will be up for grabs at the finishes as well as the intermediate sprints of the normal stages. A new points scale will give greater value to first position.
The points of the Best
Climber’s classification will be given out at the top of each listed hill or mountain and points will be doubled at the summit finishes (La Pierre-Saint-Martin, Plateau de Beille, Pra-Loup, La Toussuire - Les Sybelles, Alpe-d’Huez)
